Opening Day Lineup

Here's what we're going to go with this Sunday...

1. Kazemi, 2B
2. Walkowitz, CF
3. Ward, 3B
4. Williams, RF
5. Benvenuto, SS
6. Toal, C
7. Spagnuolo, 1B
8. Germinario, LF
9. SanGiorgi, DH
10. Gostissa, RF (right-center)
11. Pezzimenti, P

Pezzimenti (0-0) is the opening day starter and is looking to build on his 9-win season in '09. No Mailly or Pullman this week, so we're getting a little creative to fill the defensive holes. G is going to start at third and we're going four across in the outfield. We have plenty of capable outfielders so this alignment seems to make the most sense.

The lineup looks different than what it looked like in the past, but not drastically different. Moving Willy up to the clean-up slot is an interesting move. Perhaps a desperation move by Emanumonk amidst the flurries of rumors regarding his job security? Or is he just sending the team a message that we are in a win-now mode and he's willing to pull all the stops to get the job done? Either way, I like his boldness.

Bottom line here is that regardless of who hits where this lineup is capable of scoring lots of runs and winning lots of games. Sunday is a great opportunity to set a pace that the rest of the league will need to keep up with.

  8. The two people that said no are gos and lauren, no doubt. If that isn't true then there is a more important question, how did anyone at all vote that Gos ISN'T on the hot seat???
