Lineup: Doolies vs. Gas House

The Doolies (1-0) look to build upon their opening day victory by pounding Gas House senseless. First pitch is 4pm at Finch Park. Here's the lineup...

1. Kazemi, 3B
2. Walkowitz, CF
3. Ward, LF
4. Williams, 2B
5. Benvenuto, SS
6. Toal, DH
7. Spagnuolo, 1B
8. Germinario, RF (right-center)
9. Sangiorgi, DH
10. Gostissa, RF
11. Mailly, C
12. Pezzimenti, P

Pezzimenti (1-0) gets the nod again for the 2010 home opener. He's looking to follow up his strong opening day performance with his second win of the season. Luckily for Drew he gets to face Eric Gos three times, which makes any pitcher's day that much easier.

We didn't have a great day at the plate against the Stiffies and this lineup still scored 13 runs so we're sticking with it. Catcher Mark Mailly makes his 2010 season debut, while regular 3B Jason Pullman is still on his rehab assignment in triple-A Bristol.

In Pullman's absence, Mase will shift over and play third base and Willy slots into second base. We're going to continue to play with four outfielders. The logic being that we have more capable outfielders than infielders so we're willing to give up a few extra singles in order to make sure we're able to convert every fly ball into an out and cut down on the extra base hits in the gaps.

Let's put on a good show for the hometown fans, put this one away early and get to 2-0 going into the Memorial Day break.

  1. I dont know how we can put Gos on the hot seat if Nicky is making the lineup???? Is beans creams and dreams now on the hot seat if we dont win on Sunday? With out switching the lineup after a sub par hitting day against an average team with 9 guys playing and we seem to think this is ok? This goes back to the Bergen Catholic days where being average is acceptable and we know ironmen and green raiders do not stand for that. So why is their no changes in the lineup.....(and what about suspension form poor behavior or is this all acceptable as a crusader a long with hitting the sauce!) Please respond to this post asap!!!! I need to know if I am far off or right on!!!!! Thanks fellow teammate ur response will be great aprreciated!

  5. You gotta love chachi just throwing it out there, looking for his reps on the hill. I respect that. I think Big B was looking to build on a stellar game behind the dish and is furious with Beansy for not giving him a second look. I think something may have gone wrong when these guys were sharing a soak in the hot tub late Saturday night and Nicky is making Bri pay for it.

  7. All Toal does is bother me to post the lineup and then when I post the lineup he gives me shit for posting the lineup. Figure out what you want.

By the way, I think Toal's spelling and grammar tell you all that you need to know about the difference between Don Bosco and Bergen Catholic.

  8. we get W's thats all u need to know!!!! and sorry I dont proofread my blog post haha! and if we are are going to have a blog dont you want people to write on it? what fun is a blog if their is no contreversy.....So is Nicky on the hot seat if he is the acting manager??? All I'm saying I was one of the few guys who did not commit an error all game.... Not too many of those guys around....And im just saying that after a not so good hitting change and barely beating a team with nine players it might be time for a shake up in the lineup..... I know nicky ain't used to stepping on guys toes because he is usually behind them.....Cheers!!!! Cant wait for a big win Sunday!!!! With eleven of my close friends...whats better than that????

  10. You shouldn't have to proofread to know the difference between "your" and "you're" or "there" and "their".

I'm not acting manager. I'm the guy who posted the lineup.

If not making an error is your argument for why you should catch, Mailly has a lead of about 50 error-less games on you. We all know that nobody sits the whole game, we rotate in and out so those positions are just where we'll start things off.

Anyway, I don't need to be taught anything about winning. I don't need to blame the lineup as the reason why we didn't have our best day at the plate. The lineup is fine, we just need to hit the ball better.
